Crescendo Multimodal AI Shopping Assistant Turns Browsing into Buying
What’s New
Turn our Multimodal AI Assistant into your company's AI shopping guide. We have expanded capabilities that will allow our Assistant to handle product discovery and recommendations, answer WISMO (Where is my order?) and support questions (order status, delivery info, policies), and provide quick and easy navigation from the AI Assistant to the Product Detail Pages (PDPs) for purchase.
Key highlights:
- Goal-based discovery through natural conversation—no filters or menus required.
- Dynamic recommendations and side-by-side comparisons based on shopper intent.
- Direct links to PDPs so buyers can dive in and add to cart fast.
- Built-in WISMO and support for order status, shipping updates, and policy answers.
The problem we’re solving
No more endless scrolling. Shoppers don’t want a scavenger hunt; they want answers. Filters and page-hopping slow them down and create poor online shopping experience. Yet most sites still force people to tweak filters, bounce between tabs to compare items, and piece together recommendations.
Shopper expectations are already set thanks to one click checkout on Amazon. They come in thinking, “I’m used to quick, convenient purchases—why is this company making it so hard for me to spend my money?” When the experience feels clunky, comparisons are unclear, or the path to the right product takes too many steps, they drop off.
Finding the right size or compatible option shouldn’t take guesswork or endless filtering. A missed detail should not mean the item you want is out of stock when you finally get there. t. Those gaps lead to frustration, mispicks, and preventable support engagements. We’re fixing this by turning shopping into a guided conversation that understands intent, surfaces in-stock matches, connects shoppers straight to the right product, and provides support, as needed, along the way.
What’s happening under the hood
Shopping starts with conversation. Say or chat “Outfit ideas for my toddler’s birthday in fall colors,” and the Assistant does the heavy lifting.
With MCP (Model Context Protocol) support for Shopify (and others), Crescendo queries your catalog, returns matching items with images and links, and deep-links shoppers to the most relevant PDPs. The Assistant can reappear on-page so the conversation continues while they browse.
Your site still handles cart and checkout. The Assistant stays available for follow-ups, comparisons, and clarifications. Later, if the shopper asks “What’s the status of my order?”, our integrations retrieves order status and provides an update. No hunting through emails required.
We integrate with your existing product catalog data (attributes, item variants, descriptions, images), PDP content, and reviews/UGC. With agentic reasoning, the Assistant understands asks like “rain shell for winter bike commutes” and responds in plain language.
The Assistant can:
- Search the catalog semantically and by attribute
- Answer structured questions about fit, material, size, price range, or use case
- Validate inventory and pricing in real time
- Retrieve policy answers and support content
- Look up order status securely (order number plus email or ZIP)
Every answer is traceable to its sources so teams can audit why an item was proposed and thoroughly understand the progression of the conversation. Additionally, AI Assistants include configurable behaviors and guardrails so answers stay helpful, accurate, and on brand.

What this unlocks
Where shopping meets service, a single conversation that turns intent into clarity. Instead of wrestling with filters and tabs, shoppers can describe what they’re trying to accomplish and the Assistant narrows choices, explains key trade-offs in plain language, and surfaces the fit and details that matter. When it’s time to explore further, the Assistant links directly to the most relevant product pages and can reappear on those pages so the conversation continues without losing context. Real-time availability cues keep expectations aligned, steering people toward options they can actually buy now.
Throughout the interaction, the Assistant handles the basics that usually clog your support queue. It looks up orders, shares shipment status, and points to the exact policy details for returns, exchanges, or warranties. The result is a seamless path from question to confident purchase.
Together, shopping and service AI turn your site from a maze into a conversation, so customers get what they need fast, teams handle less noise, and your brand feels helpful at every step.
Let’s turn these shopping assistant capabilities into new revenue paths for your team. Try it out.
